What sets your business apart on The Avenues?

Anderson: Dream Co. adds a unique style to Ingersoll, not found elsewhere.  AJ is connected (through family and friends) to everything sold in the store. There’s a little west coast vibe in the midwest.

AJ Anderson, Owner of Dream Company

What are your go to places on The Avenues?

Anderson: Zanzibar’s for coffee and breakfast and GT’s to socialize

Who is your local Inspiration

Anderson: Dan & Amy Koenig for their commitment to the community and owners of two local stores

What is underrated in the area

Anderson: Bauder’s – always a great place for a good sandwich and malt

In the next 10 years, I hope The Avenues….

Anderson: Continues to grow!  You have to do retail right and really put the time and effort into it to do it.

What are you diggin’ lately?

Anderson: Des Moines.  Des Moines started doing local restaurant scene in the last 10-ish years and that’s happening for retail now, especially on The Avenues.  The Avenues has the openness to and room to be here. I needed space, street parking and diversity and The Avenues has it. Des Moines supports local and knows to shop local to keep businesses around.

Dream Company will be hosting Trip Out Tuesdays every Tuesday from 6-9pm this summer for the neighborhood.
