Who is someone locally who you admire and why?

Langen: Connie Wimer.  What she has single-handedly  done for Des Moines is amazing!  Still active and zesting after life in her 80s. Connie is a gorgeous person – inside and out – and is always beautifully dressed.  Such style and grace. WOW!

What’s your ideal Des Moines staycation look like?

Langen:  Unplugging, closing the shutters, and staying home!

What’s underrated in The Avenues district?

Langen: Spending the WHOLE DAY on The Avenues!  Starting with coffee and breakfast, taking in all the art along Ingersoll, the Des Moines Art Center, touring the governor’s mansion, walking through the historic neighborhoods close-by, lounging on one of the outdoor patios for lunch, shopping at one of the many unique shops, enjoying dinner, a night cap and a cupcake and SO MUCH MORE!  The Avenues has it all – all within walking distance.

What’s something someone who does business with you might not realize about you or your company?

Langen: I’m not from Des Moines.  I graduated from Drake and loved Des Moines so much, I decided to stay – and that was 40+ years ago!

What are you totally digging lately?

The Jason Woodside mural(s) on Silver Fox, 28th & Ingersoll.  They make me smile!
