CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:
Central Iowa writers of all ages are invited to participate in our short story contest!
The winning story will be featured as our 2023 Peppermint Tale. The short story will be printed on signs spanning a 0.5-mile walk down Ingersoll Avenue and highlighted during The Peppermint Trail event on December 9. The winning writer will also receive a peppermint prize package of goodies from local businesses!
ENTRY RULES:
- Length: Stories should be between 300-500 words.
- Content: Stories should be appropriate for all ages & appeal to children. Stories should contain a mention of Ingersoll, Grand, peppermint, snow and trolleys.
- Submission: Email your story as a .doc or .docx document to director@theavenuesdsm.com by 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20.
