We have 9 midwife nurse practitioners (CNM, ARNP) that offer care through all stages of life. We take care of teenagers for birth control and STD concerns. We see women for routine well-woman exams and problem focus visits related to gyn care including pap smears, colposcopies, STD testing, vaginitis and yeast. We offer IUDs, Nexplanon, Depo and oral birth control methods. We also offer menopause support and see women that are beyond their years of childbearing. And of course, we offer pregnancy care to our patients and deliver at both Methodist Downtown and Methodist West Hospitals.
We have 2 medical directors that help guide our practice and our midwife nurse practitioners work closely with the OB/GYN physicians within UnityPoint. We also have Iowa Radiology located in our office for ultrasound exams.
We have been a practice since 2002. Last year celebrating our 20th year!
One of the biggest differences that sets us apart from your typical OB/GYN experience is the amount of time that we spend with you during your appointments and the quick responsiveness that you will find when you have a concern or question. We like to get to know our patients and find out what it is that will create a great birth experience for them, whether it be natural support during labor or an epidural, we will support you. We also offer our own childbirth education classes for our patients.
New last year, we now offer IV hydration to patients that need this support which has been a nice addition! Not to mention the warm blanket if requested and chocolate you receive at your well woman visit!
