The Avenues celebrates small businesses year-round, but during the 2026 National Small Business Week (May 3-9), we hope to do something extra special to bring additional foot traffic to locally owned shops and restaurants.
Our public art and marketing committees plan to partner with Little Shrimp Vending to launch a custom collection of six tiny art pieces inspired by some of The Avenues beloved activities, like cycling our streetscape, hanging out in coffee shops, scoping out galleries, and grabbing a meal with friends.
You might have seen Claire’s artwork automat popping up at places like Lachele’s and Heroics.
During Small Business Week, Little Shrimp will be set up at Tandem Brick, 2722 Ingersoll Ave.—an independently owned and operated gift and framing shop that’s called our district home for 49 years! During business hours, anyone from the public can bring four quarters to pick up a limited-edition print. Try to collect all six!
YOU can help make this possible. We are looking for 6 individual or business sponsors to support this initiative.
Here’s how to become a Tiny Print Art Patron:
- Commit to a $325 donation to The Avenues – Restoration, our 501c3 nonprofit. (Note that $170 is tax-deductible)
- Express interest in one of 6 spots by emailing info@theavenuesdsm.com
- On Wednesday, May 9, our team will confirm you as one of six Tiny Print Art Patrons, or place you on a waiting list.
- Confirmed patrons can complete your contribution online! Check and donor advised fund options can also be available.
What do Tiny Print Art Patrons receive?
Beyond the satisfaction of supporting local artists and independent businesses in our district, you will receive a run of the full Little Shrimp + The Avenues collection, custom-framed by our friends at Tandem Brick. You can remain anonymous if you wish, but we’d also love to recognize and celebrate our Tiny Print Art Patrons with a post on our website and social media.
Love accessible art and boosting local businesses? This is your chance to support both!
