Palmer’s Deli has something for everyone. From their sandwich station and spinner salads to the deli case and dessert shelf, this massive deli has called Ingersoll Avenue home since 2004.

“Our Ingersoll location has long been a neighborhood staple. As a multi-generation family business, we’re passionate about great food, friendly service, and continuing to be a place our community can rely on,” said Ross Palmer, managing partner.

Ross’ grandparents, Carol and Gayle Palmer, opened the first Palmer’s Deli in 1989. Ross’ parents, Joe and Margaret, opened a second location in 1995. Today, there are four deli locations, including the Palmer’s Deli at 2843 Ingersoll Avenue.

For decades, we’ve served generations of Des Moines families, local workers, and nearby businesses, becoming part of people’s daily routines and life moments. We support local schools, nonprofits, and community events, and we see our customers as neighbors, not just transactions.”

To Ross, Palmer’s Deli is not just a business, but something bigger:Being on Ingersoll means being woven into the fabric of the community, and we take pride in showing up every day with great food, friendly faces, and a commitment to keeping The Avenues vibrant, welcoming, and thriving.”

Looking to the future, Ross hopes Palmer’s Deli continues to expand across the Des Moines metro while remaining a locally owned, family-owned business. Need event catering? Palmer’s is growing their catering business. Look to Palmer’s Deli to cater office meetings, events, and gatherings.
