Spring 2024: Construction of Phase 4 will impact Ingersoll Avenue between 28th–31st Streets throughout the construction season. Expect road work until mid-November. April 18 Weekly Update: Road work and traffic control continues on Ingersoll in the 2800 block. Crews will continue laying storm drain on the north side of the street, weather dependent. All businesses will remain open! Signs will be posted directing traffic to local businesses: Traffic for Palmer’s Deli, Ingersoll Tap and Cownie Furs should enter at the 29th Street entrance. Traffic for Despensary, Star Bar and J. Michael’s Salon should enter at the 28th Street entrance. The mid-block access is temporarily removed. Please note a construction staging change has occurred. The Western Ingersoll Sewer Separation project will upgrade the Western Ingersoll Basin to prevent combined sewer overflows, reduce flow to the Des Moines Metropolitan Wasteland Reclamation Facility, and comply with state requirements. This is a necessary public works project to ensure our sewers are sanitary and safe! See project maps and learn about sewer separation phases HERE. Here are the impacts you can expect to see in 2024:
