19th annual family-friendly block party returns August 26

Ingersoll LIVE, presented by Bankers Trust, returns for its 19th year on August 26. The free community event will once again take over the 2800 block of Ingersoll Avenue from 3-10 p.m. with three stages of live music and entertainment plus local vendors, food trucks, art and family activities.

Performances on the main stages include local bands Ducharme-Jones, The Heath Alan Band, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and additional acts to be announced. The Isiserettes Drill & Drum Corps will kick-off the event and a Community Stage will showcase the talent of area youth arts organizations. Pop-up dance performances will also be happening throughout the event to round out the entertainment line-up.

“We can’t wait to welcome the community to Ingersoll LIVE for our annual block party,” said Lauren Kollauf, executive director of The Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand, the nonprofit organization that organizes event. “We are once again packing the street with all-day entertainment for the whole family. It is a great chance to connect with all of your favorite neighbors and businesses in one place while celebrating our special district.”

In addition to the music and dance performances, families can also enjoy a free line-up of activities including inflatables, mini golf, face painting, balloons and a mini train. The Des Moines Art Center will also be on-site to host an interactive art station for kids.
