Some of Ingersoll Avenue’s busiest blocks now have markings to designate on-street parking stalls and maximize parking capacity on the corridor.
Visitors to Ingersoll can find the T-markings to help vehicles parallel park more efficiently on both sides of the street between the 2500 and 3100 blocks.

Parking stalls along Ingersoll are now marked to help improve parallel parking capacity.
The effort is in response to one of the recommendations from a parking study completed in Fall 2024 by The Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand. The study determined that the corridor has adequate parking for its current needs, but better uses of existing space (both on-street and off-street) is necessary. Ingersoll currently has 280+ public, on-street parking stalls.

The new pavement markings are designed to be temporary and their effectiveness in improving the parking environment will be evaluated over the next year by The Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand and the City of Des Moines.
