The Avenues is home to RezBlue Virtual Reality Arena and Des Moines Gaming Club which share an underground gaming lounge located on the lower level of the Grand Terrace Offices & Studios (2323 Grand Avenue). Parking and entrance in the back is accessible from from Ingersoll Avenue.
“Rez Blue and Des Moines Gaming Club cater to the burgeoning gaming and virtual reality (VR) communities,” said Laura Kinnard, owner. Both businesses were established in 2019.
RezBlue offers a state-of-the-art VR experience where patrons can experience a wide variety of immersive experiences ranging from thrilling adventures and action-packed games to more relaxed and exploratory environments.
Des Moines Gaming Club features a variety of gaming stations with high-end PCs and consoles and regularly organizes tournaments, leagues, and other events that foster a sense of community and friendly competition among gamers.
“The club provides a comfortable environment where gamers can connect, share strategies, and enjoy their favorite pastime together,” said Kinnard. ” It serves as a hub for the local gaming community, offering a space for both casual andcompetitive gamers.”
Kinnard suggests a Virtual Escape Room and Laser Tag for middle school and high school-aged youth who’ve outgrown other birthday party options.
