Soft lighting, minimalist decor, and sustainable style greet shoppers at Preservation (2717 Ingersoll Ave). Attentive staff share the latest fashionable finds in a calm, curated atmosphere. Looking for something specific? You will find that the shop’s sustainable and ethical fashion choices are organized by clothing or accessory type.
Located on The Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand for almost 6 years, Preservation offers unique vintage finds, slow-fashion staples, and a curated selection of current labels. “Our purpose is to encourage a more ethical and sustainable way of living and consuming,” says Preservation owner Nicole Trower. “We do this through partnerships that prioritize preserving the environment through ethical production and thoughtful process with a sincere consideration for all people.

This Ingersoll store attracts frequent customers ranging from 20-somethings to women in their 70s. “We offer a very unique mix of high-quality wardrobe staples, a curated selection of sought-after vintage, and a unique mix of accessories and beauty products,” Nicole says. Preservation is clearly popular online, too, with almost 14,000 followers on Instagram.
Nicole serves on the 2026 board of directors for The Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand, and she invests in growing a vibrant commercial corridor.
“Looking to the future, we remain committed to offering the best of slow fashion alongside an expanded, high-quality vintage curation and the growth of our in-house label, REWORKED,” Nicole says. We also look forward to further developing our new space to serve our community better.”

Q: Do you have any upcoming events, promotions, or specials you’d like to share?
A: We are excited to announce The Loop Market on March 8, 2026, from 11 AM – 3 PM. This event features a hand-selected group of our customers popping up in our shop to sell elevated secondhand goods. We will also be hosting Surface Skin, which offers an effective, affordable, and diverse curation of cutting-edge skincare. Katherine Lock Contemporary will also be popping up with artful home decor and more, and our good friends at Hotori will be serving up complimentary Matcha Affogatos.
