Looking for a taste of Paris in the heart of Des Moines? Look no further than Nadia’s French Bakery.
“We specialize in handcrafted pastries, breads, and desserts made with traditional French techniques and high-quality ingredients,” said Nadia Ahissou, Owner. “From buttery croissants, pain au chocolat, Paris-Brest, chausson aux pommes and to savory quiches and artisanal baguettes, our menu offers something for every palate.”
Nadia’s French Bakery opened her first storefront at 2705 Grand Ave after being a local farmers market favorite for several years. Ahissou originally hails from the West African nation of Benin where the official language is French. As a child, Nadia would often visit an aunt in France who operated a home-based bakery. That’s where her love of baking started but it wasn’t until 2020 when she decided to turn it into a profession.
“Our goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where people can enjoy authentic French flavors,” said Ahissou. “Beyond delicious treats, we are committed to supporting the local economy by sourcing ingredients from nearby suppliers and collaborating with other small businesses.”
Nadia’s French Bakery is continuously introducing seasonal offerings to her cafe menu. Follow the bakery on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date and be treated to drool-worthy photos.
